Do be considerate of Loons while operating boats and PWCs. To protect them from injury and death, pick up any loose line when fishing and refrain from using lead sinkers.
Do check for and remove aquatic weeds from your boat, trailer, and anchor, especially if you boat in other waters.

Do keep your motor properly tuned, especially older 2-stroke outboards. They can emit as much as 15% of their raw fuel directly out of the exhaust.
Do properly maintain your septic system. Ensure that it is cleaned and inspected regularly.
Do be considerate early in the morning and later in the evening. Sound carries over the lake and not everyone may share your taste in music or topic of conversation.
Don't use fertilizer, except lime within 25' of the high water mark. Plant a buffer zone, trees and bushes near the water to trap runoff, before it goes into the lake.
Don't use your septic system to dispose of toxic chemicals such as paint, gasoline, waste oil, and harsh household cleaners. They destroy beneficial bacteria in the system causing major backups and problems. Try to use low phosphate detergents.
Don't use powerful outboard motors in shallow areas. The nutrient-laden bottom sediments can be churned into the overlying water to support increased algae growth.
Don't feed the ducks. They are hosts to the trematode parasites, a major cause of the itchy skin rash known as swimmers itch.
